The unique 42,000-seat ballpark opened in 2004 and incorporates a total of seven historic buildings into the stadium, including a four-story brick structure dating to 1909 that now sprouts left field bleachers from one side. Petco Park offers a broad variety of dining options, way beyond typical ballpark fare.
The San Diego Chargers football season runs from August to December. The Chargers play at Qualcomm Stadium in Mission Valley. In addition, the collegiate Holiday Bowl is held at Qualcomm Stadium every December.
